The stars were out...
It was the MATRIC DANCE 2001 Amidst a flurry of beautiful ball gowns, the luxury of valet parking and the wonderful ambience of the dining room, this was not something we will forget easily. The 2001 Matric Dance was held at the Cape Holiday Inn, and the words on everybody's lips - along with Lionel Richie's ... were ...
From the "stormy" speech of Mrs Harding, who welcomed the girls and their partners to the dance ... ... to Tricia's gracious thanks and tribute to Ms Lawrence, Mrs Wilding and the incredibly hardworking Matric Committee of 2001 ... it was simply marvellous. She reminded the girls' partners how incredibly lucky they were to have made the selection process and then she and Alan (her very lucky partner) led the dancing, and it was not long before the floor was filled. Some of us took a few moments to have our photographs taken ... .... while the rest simply danced the night away. The staff too were not unwilling to have a good time... The hours sped away far too quickly. We all enjoyed our night of glamour the supurb food, and the luxury of being attended to by obliging waiters and ever-willing photographers. The friendships forged over the last five years of our High School careers had to be documented on this wonderful occasion, and some of us managed to get our classes together before the end of the evening. |
