Most of the photographs seen on this page were taken by
Leanne Jones, a pupil who matriculated from Wynberg in 1998.
An aerial view of Wynberg Girls' High.
From here you can the sportsfields shared by the Boys' and Girls' Junior and Girls'
High Schools.

This is the entrance to the Girls' High
School.
At the end of the driveway, the entrance to the foyer of the Main Hall can be seen,
backed by the sides Devil's Peak and Table Mountain.
The other buildings seen on the left side are the Gymnasium and the Ballet Hall.

These are the gates of Waterloo House, the hostel run by Mr and Mrs
Cheney.
The Boarding House provides a "home from home" for ninety learners.

This is a view of the back of Waterloo House,
where the windows of the girls' rooms can be seen.
In the foreground is the swimming pool. The diving board of the diving pool can be
seen on the right.
On the left is seen one of our sets of tennis courts.

This is one of the photographs you see on the
home page.
Taken by the nephew of a former principal, Mrs C Walters,
it is a view of the front entrance to the reception area of the school.

This is a view of the front entrance to the
reception area as can be seen from the Main Hall.
Downstairs, you can also see the windows to the front offices
where you will meet the secretaries and the Principal.
Upstairs in the far corner on the left, is our Lifeskills room,
and one of our five laboratories.

This is a view of some of the classrooms and
Wellington Quad.
Through the windows upstairs, the English Block is found. Downstairs is the
Computer Centre.

This is another view of Wellington quadrangle
on a less gloomy day,
with the Mountain peeping over the buildings in the background.
Despite the fact that only a few of the Wynberg girls can be seen in the
photograph,
it is a very popular spot for girls to sun themselves and catch up with the local
news at break time.
With a more spectacular view of the sides of
Devil's Peak and Table Mountain
which you saw peeping over the buildings in the previous image,
this is a view of our hockey clubhouse.
When this photograph was taken, the astroturf had not yet been built.

Since then the Astroturf has been put in (1998).
This very costly development of our history was painstakingly documented until
finally
we were able to watch our First Hockey Team play their first match
on our very own astroturf.
This is an investment which the Girls' High School shared with
the Wynberg Boys' Junior and High Schools,
It is unlikely that hockey would not be being played!
On 30 May 2001 the new tuckshop was opened.
This area serves as a covered area for the students not only at their break time, but it
also serves as an ideal venue for smaller gatherings - whether of an administrative or
cultural nature.
These photographs document the students using
their new tuckshop for the first time.
