Wynberg Schools Placed First at Athletics meet
and eight girls selected for the semi finals

On Tuesday, 12 February, Wynberg Boys' and Girls' High Schools took part in an Athletics meeting held at Greenpoint Stadium. It was with much excitement and enthusiasm that athletes from both Boys' High and Girls' hopped into the buses. No doubt, a great deal of that excitement was also the result of nervousness about the competition. On this day, our strength was pitted against schools such as Muizenberg, Hout Bay, Fish Hoek, Groenvlei and Lavender Hill. Throughout the day, Wynberg took part in numerous track and field events, doing very well in all of them. Not surprisingly, the girls and boys from both schools bonded well together and provided each other with sterling support, encouragement and motivation. Although the day was a hot and an extremely long one, the Wynberg High schools were delighted when they were placed first on the day. Many thanks go to the coaches and supporters and congratulations to all of the participants.
