Past Pupils from 1975-1979

Hunter, Amanda (1979) wrote to us in November 2003: I left SA in 1986 and travelled for two years, finally ending up in Scotland where I met my partner and worked in community education. I am just about to take up a new post as a Lecturer in Community Development at Glasgow University - my specialism is Global Citizenship! Janice Thorpe (now Newnham) wrote to us in July 2004 "I always thought the title "Old Girl" was awful - I'm even more firm on that thought now that I am one!!!! I matriculated in the class of 1979. I was desperate to become a veterinarian and after emigrating to Australia I achieved the objective. After an eventful career in a number of locations around Australia, I have settled in a tiny country town in North East Victoria where I am a part time vet, part time schoolbus driver and full time Mum and wife. I missed the 10 year class reunion - I regret not knowing what paths my class mates took. Helen Milne and Jenny ...(surname has escaped me at this point) were my buddies but I lost touch - it would be fun to catch up!!" Write to her at newnham@corry.albury.net.au

Michalowsky Merle (1975) now Traub has been living in Australia since 1980 and wrote to us October in 2002: "I  keep in touch with a couple of old girls, one whom lives in Perth and was also a boarder, and the other in Townsville. I have also met up with a few other old girls, but they were ahead of me. My younger daughter is at Perth College. They have 2 sister schools - one in Canada and one in Bloem! They also do a student exchange with Herschel (our rivals!) where a year 10 (standartd 8) spends a term at the other's school." Her e-mail address is paul@vitalife.com.au

Salt Tina,  now Harker (1975) wrote to us in April: "I now live in Derby, England and am married with 4 nearly grown-up children and work as a nursery nurse at the local Junior school. I left Wynberg Girls High School in 1975 (I think!) to go to England when I was about 15/16 years old. I would love to hear from anybody that knew me. My best friend was Heather Rainbird.I also attended Aliwal Road Primary School as did my younger brother David. We lived with my mother across the road from the race course at Kenilworth."
