Past pupils 1955-1959

Skipp Trudi (class of '57) now Arnold recalls Wynberg with great fondness and recently wrote to us, and updated us on a bit of her news She wrote: "I am a past (very past) pupil. I was at the school 1957 when Aileen Currie was headmistress. Gosh, she was a formidable woman, but I remember her unexpected kindness to us when we were very young boarders: on a Sunday evening she used to read Worzel Gummidge to us and give us a cup of cocoa! I also got a roasting of a final term report because a bunch of us tried to have a midnight feast. I then left South Africa for the UK and the difference at the convent boarding school...they were really not kind at all and life was quite miserable for a while. I have been back to South Africa a number of times and we actually visited the old school (holiday time unfortunately). It was great to see the old place look so well." Cox Tandi (1955) now McIntosh wrote in August 2004 "It was great to go online and see what a few of you are up so I thought I 'd give you a brief update on what I've been up to. Here it goes: I travelled for a while and mucked around then met Sam McIntosh who I married 5 years ago, we had a baby girl named Jedda (4yrs), then moved to Australia and had our second child Tex (2yrs) then I started studying at Charles Sturt University (who would have thought) but have recently had to defer because we are expecting our third beautiful bundle of joy. So yes, I'm a bit crook and cranky but it's gonna be good fun. Thats my life in a nut shell! Contact me on Tandimcintosh@hotmail.com
