| 29 December was a
very important day for a number of Wynberg women. Not only because it was
nearing the end of the year.
It marked the day on which the matric
results were announced by the Minister of Education. It marked a day in
which Wynberg was once again cited a school of Academic excellence. And it
marked the day on which the class of 94 had chosen to get together for a
ten-year reunion.
So just a few hours after the staff of
Wynberg Girls' High had collated the results of the 2004 matriculants, and
the matriculants of 2004 had gathered in the driveway of that marvellous
school, and heard their wonderfu news, a little way down the street, those
who had matriculated in 1994 - ten years ago - were catching up with each
other's lives.
We were absolutely delighted to
receive an email from Lisa containing a number of photographs of the reunion which
the class of '94 had at Cafe Verdi on 29 December.
Organised by Lisa Buckles and her team of helpers, Hilary Gardner, Lesley Joubert and Ann Nordoff,
they met at 7pm at Cafe
Verdi in Wolfe Street, Wynberg. Always a convivial and congenial place, it was
the ideal environment for our equally congenial and convivial Wynberg
women.
There were about fifty people who attended,
and we have subsequently heard that it was an absolutely wonderful
evening. |
