If you have ever attended one of Wynberg's Xhosa Concerts, you will know that this is something that you cannot afford to miss. You will have diarised it. This year, Ms Mpambo's Xhosa Society has put together a show which takes us through the preparations a young man must undergo in order to win the affections of one of the Wynberg Intombi! And it is no mean task! With only one show, you have to move fast if you want to obtain a ticket! Starting at 18h00 with a sampling of South African foods, prepared by the marvellous mums of the members of the Xhosa Society, you will be able to taste the wonders of Halaal foodstuffs, traditional Xhosa dishes and good old Afrikaanse potjiekos. At 19:30 the festivities begin, and the answer to the question on every sensible person's mind - where are the girls - is provided right here! Now aren't they just something? We popped into the rehearsals and were delighted to see some of the scenes from the first half of the show. Over the next few days, we'll keep you posted! |
