Music Evening and Lunchtime Concert

Excitement and nerves filled the hall on Thursday 1 November as the music pupils prepared for the concert exam ensemble, which parents and friends came to support them. Performances included those of the recorder, piano, flute, guitar, violin and voice duets. Each piece was most enjoyable and lots of fun: Piano players, Emma Brink and Melanie Gericke jazzed up the evening with Pam Wedgewood's  'Finger Bustin' Boogie', and the Recorder Ensemble (Tammy Binedell, Candice Krieger, Yumna Martin and Nancy Schutz) supported the fun-filled feel with 'Beckett Blues'. Jennifer Auret and Lauren Baerecke delighted us with their piano piece,  'Big Mack' and the theme songs put smiles on everybody's faces. Tammy Binedell and Melissa Crichton made all the teenage hearts swoon when they sang 'Tell Him'. The concert was most enjoyable and a large success.

The Recorder Ensemble entertain us at the Lunchtime Concert

To provide those who had been unable to attend the concert, the girls rewarded the school by playing for them at a lunch time concert held at second break on 8 November. Again, many staff members and friends came to enjoy a mixture of sounds and instruments that lifted their spirits for the remainder of the day. We commend all of these talented players and hope that they realise just how much their performances enrich the life of the school.
