Carol Service 2001 - 25 November
As a wonderful start to the Christmas season,
the choirs of the four Wynberg schools provided
parents and members of the broader Wynberg community with a wonderful evening of praise
and
rejoicing in the birth of Christ.
The hour long service was held at seven o'clock in the beautiful church, Saint John's
Parish in
Wynberg and was packed to capacity. While the congregation were invited to join in with
old
favourites such as Silent Night, Hark! the Herald Angels Sing, Joy to the World! and O
Come, All
Ye Faithful, we were also encouraged to listen, to worship and enjoy as the choirs from
our
various schools rejoiced in the Christmas season with their chosen hymns.

Although we do not have
photographs or recordings of the service itself, the Wynberg Girls' High school choir met
a little earlier at the school to run through the hymn that they had chosen to sing for us
- The Holy City by Stephen
Adams. This truly inspirational
piece is well worth listening to.
We are grateful to the Boys' Junior School who co-ordinated and arranged the Wynberg
2001Carol Service and the Music Departments of all four schools for the pocket of praise
and thanksgiving we were able to enjoy. |
