Interhouse plays

Our annual interhouse plays, written and directed by the Grade 11 pupils, started off with high expectations, which  were definitely met by the performances given by the four houses. Each play was unique in its own way. The actresses displayed much talent and enthusiasm whilst performing.

The themes that were portrayed were:

Miss Frankenstein - a beauty pageant for the most ghaulish looking contestant with an awesome array of hideous witches, horrible vampires, horrendous mummies, hunchbacks and haunts. This play was performed by the Apsley girls.

Miss Frankestein

Alice has Landed was an amusing play, dishcloths( a nickname given to our school uniform) and all, a tale about Alice, Alice, Alice and...Alice. Copenhagen gave a witty portrayel of Alice in Wonderland.

The Final Dress Rehearsal was a play that gave a new meaning to the saying "a bad final dress rehearsal means a good opening night" because this play was a continuing work in progress. This play was performed by the Waterloo House girls.

Finally, the play Mens Sana in thingummy Doodah was a play that was set in the 1970's. It was a journey about two women who want to loose their excess baggage - in more ways than one. Wellesley presented such a wonderful play that they won the cup for the best house play with Waterloo House coming second. The best acctress award went to Asiphe Matiyela with best supporting actress going to Natasha Jones.
