Wynberg Girls' High 1999 Matric Results
From the perspective of the teachers, and no doubt the parents of Alisse and Renee
Carslake, our identical twin Dux Matriculants, 1999 has provided a fairy tale ending to
their school career. Outstanding scholars and exemplary students, Renee and Alisse have
raced neck and neck to the finish line and in their final exam, achieved exactly the same
result. Sitting examinations for seven subjects and attaining a distinction in each,
Alisse and Renee achieved the same total in their final aggregate! We extend our heartiest
congratulations and our very warm wishes to them.

The Wynberg
Girls' High Dux for the 1999 Western Cape Senior Certificate Examination
The number of A Aggregates achieved by our Wynberg
girls was not limited to these two candidates: sixteen of our candidates achieved A
aggregates in the final exam. We salute their efforts and show them off proudly to you.

Once again, Wynberg Girls' High boasts a
100% pass rate, and of the 153 candidates who sat the examinations there were sixteen A
aggregates, forty-eight B aggregates, fifty-two C aggregates, thirty-two D aggregates and
five E aggregates. Of those who wrote the examination, one hundred and twenty-two
candidates obtained full matric endorsement, and ten obtained conditional endorsements and
seventy six percent of the grouping obtained an aggregate above sixty percent. There were
102 subject distinctions in all.
Within each subject, Wynberg girls are
well above the provincial average with our school's averages tending to settle between
sixty and seventy percent.
