On 20 November, the Wynberg schools closed a small but significant chapter in their history: three years on, the schools are closing the doors to running the A-Levels course as a college. No longer are we opening our doors to students from other schools to enable them to study this course. Instead the schools are offering an enriched course to students at the Wynberg Schools, which will enable them the option to obtain both a Western Cape Education Department qualification as well as a Cambridge one, should they choose to do so. At a small function held at the girls' school, Lynne Martin paid tribute to the Principals of the two schools and to all of those who had been involved in the "A-Levels Adventure." Acknowledgement was also given to Lynne, who ran with the vision of the two schools, and through her efficiency, drive and extraordinary energy and passion made the vision possible. |
